چکیده
Modern data-driven applications pose stringent requirements of high bandwidth, ultra-low-latency, low-powered, and scalable interconnections among switches routers in data-centers. To address these demands, electronic switching is not a viable choice due to bandwidth computing bottlenecks. Thus, researchers explored effective optical switch design principles for next-generation In switches, data aggregates the form bursts (OB) at ultra-high speeds. case OB contention, solutions are proposed by store as recirculating patterns fiber delay lines (FDL) with induced delay. However, variable burst length, it possible measure slot thus storage contending intermediate core switches. Motivated from aforementioned discussions, this paper, we propose DbOBS, that capable during contention slots. DbOBS estimates mean deviation length minimize loss. The considered validated through parameters like-burst estimation, over-reservation, waiting time. For network-layer simulations, poison arrivals packetized units. packets sent Monte-Carlo loss probability (BLP) estimated various input load conditions buffer sizes. achieves BLP order $$10^{-4}$$ $$\approx$$ 0.8, buffer-size 50, $$L=5$$ , outperforms traditional designs.

Multi-stage optical buffered switch for IP traffic
A novel architecture is proposed for future multi-terabit IP (internet protocol) routers, employing multiple cascaded stages of optical switching and buffering. WDM is used within the node to facilitate its operation. External synchronization is not required, and a void-filling algorithm is used to simplify hardware requirements. Packet priorities are not implemented in the current version of t...
متن کاملOptical switch based on variable aperture.
We report on a pixel whose aperture can be varied electrically. The pixel is confined by a hole-patterned polymer wall and a dielectric liquid forms a ring shape around the wall surface. Without an electric field, the pixel has the largest aperture. The applied fringing field stretches the liquid surface, leading to a decrease in the aperture size. The switchable aperture ratio of the pixel is ...
متن کاملDesign of Arrayed Waveguide Grating based Optical Switch for High Speed Optical Networks
This paper demonstrates the design of an Arrayed Waveguide Gratings (AWG) based optical switch. In the design both physical and network layer analysis is performed. The physical layer power and noise analysis is done to obtain Bit Error Rate (BER). This has been found that at the higher bit rates, BER is not affected with number of buffer modules. Network layer analysis is done to obtain perfor...
متن کاملOn the asymmetric clocked buffered switch
A 2×2 clocked buffered switch is a device used in data-processing networks for routing messages from one node to another. The message handling process of this switch can be modelled as a two-server, time slotted, queueing process with state space the number of messages (xn, yn) present at the servers at the end of a time slot. The (xn, yn)-process is a two-dimensional nearest-neighbour random w...
متن کاملOptimization of Bistability in Nonlinear Chalcogenide Fiber Bragg Grating for All Optical Switch and Memory Applications
We solve the coupled mode equations governing the chalcogenide nonlinear fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) numerically, and obtain the bistability characteristics. The characteristics of the chalcogenide nonlinear FBGs such as: switching threshold intensity, bistability interval and on-off switching ratio are studied. The effects of FBG length and its third order nonlinear refractive index on FBG cha...
